The WELL Building Standard is a performance-based system that measures, certifies, and monitors features of the built environment that affect human health and well-being. These features include air quality, water quality, access to healthy food, lighting conditions, opportunities for physical activity, indoor comfort, and support for mental health.
The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), a public benefit corporation, manages and administers the WELL standard. Its mission is to enhance human health and well-being by improving the built environment.
Currently, 41,959 buildings across 127 countries worldwide have adopted the WELL standard. The total registered area of these buildings is approximately 4.43 billion square meters.
